The Route
Day one started in San Diego, where I shared my last night as a resident of the US at my good-friend Brandon Marx’s house. Brandon and I lived together in San Diego for a few years in the good-old PB days. Whenever we are together it picks up like it was yesterday.
I chose to cross in Tecate because I heard rumors that border patrol in Tijuana will make you remove any window tinting. That is something I would like to avoid. From Tecate I will drive to Ensenada for lunch before continuing on to El Rosario, where I plan to sleep for the night.
Crossing the Border
With gratitude, I said goodbye this morning to the United States while crossing the border to my new life.. No idea what today or tomorrow may bring and never felt more alive!
Stopped on the Mexico side of the border in Tecate, Border Patrol asked the total value of my goods.. I said $250. She popped the trunk and took one look at my Tupperware half full of chips and sent me on my way!
