Palmilla was founded in 1967 by Don Luis Bulnes as a small fishing village with just 28 homes and 27 full-time residents. It wasn’t long before its stunning beaches and laid-back atmosphere started to draw in more and more visitors from around the world. In the late 1980s, Don Luis’ grandson, Don Abelardo L. Rodriguez, decided to transform the sleepy little fishing village into a luxury resort destination and began developing high-end residential lots throughout the area. This set off an impressive wave of growth that would eventually lead to Palmilla becoming one of the most popular tourist destinations in all of Mexico. Today, this community in San Jose del Cabo is one of the most sought-after in the area and definitely our favorite beach to take Maximo for a swim.
