Dane Posey
Rush-hour traffic saved my life
One day, not so long ago, I was on the 405 freeway somewhere in LA amongst a sea of brake lights. It had become such an ingrained part of my daily routine that nothing about the roughly four hours of life commitment I was making seemed unreasonable. It became my meditation time. During one of my evening “meditations”, due to a jack-knifed big rig, I was listening to a podcast on KCRW about how true happiness can only be found when you trust what your inner guide tells you free of all judgment. Truer words had never been spoken and the next day I submitted my resignation and started planning my next steps. Dane Posey was moving south of the border.
Tractor-beam sucked me right in
October 1st, 2013 will always be special for me. It marked my first day of residency in Mexico. Crossing the border and heading south as a tourist for the last time was something I was so sure of that doubts never had an opportunity to build. That perfect combination of faith and naivety proved invaluable when, for a while, everything that possibly could go wrong, did. Then, on a chance winter evening at “Shooters” in downtown San José del Cabo, an abused puppy, too young to be on her own, came into my life. I soon learned that I needed her as much as she needed me.
Everything happens for a reason
Shortly thereafter on a Saturday morning at the Mercado Organico in San Jose, not too far from where I met Shooter, I first met Angie Villa. With “dog in hand” it must have taken me at least four passes before I caught her attention. She was helping translate for tourists at the pop-up restaurant of El Rinconcito, home of the most amazing tamales, chilaquiles, and pozole in all of Los Cabos and, dare I say, Mexico. So frequent were my weekly visits that she soon believed that I must be the world’s biggest fan of pozole.
Fast Forward to 2024
2024 is my eleventh year in Los Cabos and every day is better than the last. Angie and I have built a family with a son born in 2020 and a baby girl born in 2022. If heaven is a place on earth, then it is here in Cabo.
As a Partner of The Agency Los Cabos, I have advised hundreds of buyers and sellers with their Cabo dream. Many of them have become friends of ours. Fortune has smiled upon me through strong mentors, excellent clients, and consistent opportunities to serve as a trusted Cabo Real Estate advisor. Over the pandemic, I was Director of Sales at The Cape Residences at The Cape, a Thompson Hotel until I sold out all inventory for over $46MM. Currently, I oversee multiple developments, including Phase II at The Cape, and help buyers acquire their slice of paradise all over the peninsula, it would be my honor to help you too.
